From day one of living in Houlton you can enjoy the benefits of community life at Dollman Farm. You’ll find our Visitor Centre in the beautifully renovated farm house, next door to The Barn community centre and delicious Tuning Fork café.
The Dollman Farm courtyard is now open and The Tuning Fork is a busy hive of community life, serving breakfasts, lunches and delicious coffee and cakes. The Barn is coming to life with yoga, pilates, sewing and singing groups all signed-up and The Visitor Centre offering the vision for the future of Houlton.
With 17 types of trees, natural play and a recreational pond, Dollman Common is the perfect place to relax or play. Its wispy willows, beech and oak trees are nestled amongst native Warwickshire trees including the ‘Wild Wood’ and ‘Wykin Pippin’ and they offer an attractive and familiar presence on arrival into Houlton.
Our specially designed Visitor Centre is aimed at bringing the Houlton vision alive. Understand the bigger picture and how Houlton will evolve into a community with many opportunities. You can see what has already been created and what there is to look forward to.
The Tuning Fork
Serving locally sourced and seasonally inspired dishes, their menu will leave you spoilt for choice. Run by a local family, The Tuning Fork sits at the heart of Dollman Farm and welcomes the locals of Houlton as well as those travelling from around and about to sample the delicious menu.
The Tuning Fork is licensed and is also open for evening meals three nights per week. Visit their website for menus and opening times.
Houlton Play Park
Commonly regarded amongst five-year-olds as “the bestest park ever”, Houlton’s new adventure playground is going down a storm with our young residents. Featuring a showpiece tower, a bridge loop and sandpit area, as well as swings, slides and climbing equipment, the space has been designed to cater for team games and picnics as well as feature a nature trail.
There is over a mile of walkways and cycleways already created at Houlton weaving through the land, play park and homes. These walkways contain 40 acres of natural habitat for our wildlife and are rich in ecological features including ponds, wildflowers and hibernacular. The walkways are all interlinked into our nature trail, taking you out into the open space of Normandy Hill with its rolling ridge and furrow land.
Whether you’re into yoga, crafts, knitting, pilates or salsa, The Barn will have something to take your fancy. Also a haven for parents and toddlers at the Dollman Dots session or mother and baby pilates, the venue has classes on five days a week and some weekends and is Houlton’s very own community venue. For more information on the classes or to book the venue, please get in touch.
